Veterans SERVE Network at Waste Connections
Waste Connections recognizes the invaluable contributions that military veterans bring to our organization and company culture. In 2019, our employees established a Veterans Employee Resource Group, officially named S.E.R.V.E., with a mission to Support, Engage, and Recruit Veteran Employees.
Since its inception, S.E.R.V.E. has grown into a thriving community approaching 1,000 members. The S.E.R.V.E. mission is to cultivate a culture of camaraderie that inspires engagement and provides meaningful support to our fellow veterans. Central to this mission is our commitment to attracting and retaining exceptional veteran talent. Our members are also united by a shared desire to serve and uplift the local communities where we live and work—continuing the legacy of service that defines our veterans.

At Waste Connections, we share a lot of the same values as the men and women of the armed forces - like integrity, teamwork and being the best that we can be for our community.
That's why we are proud to have veterans join us for their civilian careers. In addition to supporting veterans and their families, we regularly participate in military-sponsored events. Our presence at veteran job fairs is another reminder that we support them with a career where our service members can continue to do impactful work.

I am honored to work alongside fellow veterans at Waste Connections and to be a part of the S.E.R.V.E. veteran network. Our organization is dedicated to supporting, engaging, and retaining veterans by offering resources, assistance, mentoring, and opportunities to engage with other employee veterans. We actively volunteer with, and provide financial support to, local non-profits that assist veterans. Waste Connections is committed to recruiting military veterans. As a result, our network continues to expand, now boasting over 850 active members.
