Customer Service Representative

Mammoth Disposal, a Waste Connections company, has an immediate opening for a Customer Service Representative supporting our business operations in Mammoth, California. This position will be approximately 45 hours per week and is located in Mammoth Lakes, California.

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) fields calls from Customers and works to resolve problems they raise concerning service or billing. A successful CSR must understand the Waste Connections business, so they can resolve various types of customer issues. Customer Service Representatives must show empathy or sensitivity to the customer regarding the issue at hand.

The pay rate will be $19.00 per hour to start.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Politely greets customers in person and over the telephone and communicates concise and accurate information regarding services options, charges, billing, and contracts.

  • Listens for and identifies opportunities to cross sell additional products and services.

  • Confirms understanding of customer needs, issues, and requests.

  • Establishes customer accounts and enters service type, pricing, billing, and other required information into the computer.

  • Updates customer data in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Responds to customers’ complaints and takes necessary actions resolve their issues including communicating with other department managers, dispatchers, and drivers.

  • Directs more complex customer complaint issues to the Office Manager.

  • Performs other administrative and clerical duties as required.

  • Informs drivers of any route changes/issues.

  • Maintains an organized work area.

  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, and at times loud, environment.

  • Must be able to multi-task, while helping customers on the phone, and in person.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2 years of Customer Service experience in a high call volume atmosphere.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and E-Mail, proficient in 10 key, keyboarding and typing skills a must

  • Solid Waste Industry Experience and or related field is preferred.

  • Excellent verbal communications skills.
