Job TitleHeavy Duty Mechanic
Primary LocationVernon, British Columbia
Waste Connections of Canada has an immediate opening for a Licensed Mechanic to join our team in Vernon, BC to work on a fleet of garbage trucks. In this position, you will be working on heavy diesel trucks. We do a lot of hydraulics and electrical along with preventative maintenance and minor engine repair. A lot of our fleet is still under warranty! We are looking for a SAFETY inclined, energetic, autonomous and proactive team player capable of making a difference in his/her team and community.
We offer top hourly wages and shift incentives, and as this is a union position, you get great union benefits and a pension plan. We also offer safety bonuses, tool allowance, and supply boots, uniforms, etc.

Shift timing: Monday to Friday 11am start time. Up to 8-10 hours shifts.
Pay rate: $35 to $37 per hour, based on experience
- License or Red Seal Equivalent
- CVI endorsement
- Class 3 DL
- Must be willing to travel to satellite locations
- Must have your own tools.
- 3-4 years of experience in truck and trailer repairs
- Must be able to pass all pre-employment tests
