Waste Connections of Canada is a leading non-hazardous solid waste management in North America. We are looking for a SAFETY inclined, energetic, autonomous, and proactive team player who is capable of making a difference in his/her team and community.

We have an immediate opening for a Dispatcher/Customer Service/ Admin at our Kelowna office.

Dispatch & Customer Service Duties:

  • Monitors and tracks progress of drivers, using a cell phone, throughout the work day in order to ensure timely completion of assigned routes
  • Assigns commercial pickups to appropriate waste collection routes
  • Updates and maintains all assigned line of business routes in TRUX system
  • Service as a single point of contact for all internal and external customers
  • Respond to customer inquiries – via phone and email and resolve customer billing problems through account corrections


  • Ensures divisions PO log is accurate and complete and that invoices are paid or submitted for payment
  • Reviews division p-card batches for accuracy and enters division invoices into companies accounting system for check payments
  • Entering customer payments
  • Reconciling intercompany transactions & preparing journal entries
  • Reconciling cash log and collection calls on overdue accounts

Additional tasks:

  • Maintain appropriate files and documentation, in accordance with company policy and internal controls
  • Liaise with internal teams to determine service requirements, resolve problems or complaints
  • Other duties as may be required


  • 2-3 years of customer service/office admin experience
  • 1-2 years of related accounting experience
  • High-volume call center or inbound calling experience
  • Pleasant demeanor over the phone and emails
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, TRUX
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Critical and logical thinking skills
